"The world I live in is one of extreme danger, abject poverty, and absolutely no direction and guidance. I have no father, my mother never showed any intrest in me, and I have never been to school of any kind. I have seen friends killed in the streets by corrup police officers, I have had many friends who traded sex for money and/or a place to stay, and I have personally been involved in such delinquent acts as theft, vandalism, arson, and drugs. I am 11 years old. I am a street kid in Port-au-Prince, Haiti."

Amazing but true, more than 5,000 children are living on the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. They are endessly at the mercy of the currents in their society. Sometimes at peace, sometimes in uproar, never a truly secure moment for these young victims of a desperate land.
But, Mercy League Haiti is envisioning an answer for this dilemma... a trade school. There is one universal outcry for an education. The need of the street kids is education and Mercy League is laying the groundwork for a school that will provide the education that will meet the need.
MLH's goal is to bring them off the streets and give them an education and direction. But not only to clothe and feed them , the goal is to empower them with the life transforming, living gospel of Christ combined with cutting-edge vocational and academic studies.
